Each Ramadan, UFGD undertakes a vital mission: our annual Food Package Drive. With the support of generous donors like you, we collect funds and distribute essential food packages to struggling families around the world. These carefully curated packages contain staple items that can sustain a family of four for an entire month, ensuring they have nourishment during this sacred period.
Over the years, by the grace of Allah and the generosity of our supporters, UFGD has provided these life-saving food packages to families in 13 different countries, including Ghana, Colombia, Bosnia, Palestine, and many more. Yet, as we witness the growing need worldwide, we aspire to extend our reach even further. Your donations play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
For many families, these food packages are not just sustenance; they are a beacon of hope. In war-torn regions, refugee camps, and impoverished communities, food insecurity is a daily struggle. A simple package of rice, flour, lentils, and cooking essentials can make the difference between hunger and survival.
The significance of giving in Ramadan is deeply rooted in our faith. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and his generosity would increase during Ramadan. As narrated in Sahih Bukhari:
"The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he was the most generous in Ramadan when Jibreel met him." (Bukhari 6)
Moreover, Allah reminds us in the Qur'an:
"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears; in every ear, there are a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing and Knowing." (Qur’an 2:261)
